Position Summary
The Corrections LPN provides direct and emergency nursing care to individuals in custody within a corrections facility. Working in the Medical and Ambulatory Care units, you will collaborate with healthcare teams while maintaining strict safety and security protocols.
This role requires strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively in a controlled and highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to patients in a corrections setting

Conduct health assessments, administer medications, and monitor patient status

Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate interventions

Document patient care in accordance with facility and regulatory standards

Collaborate with physicians, RNs, and facility staff

Maintain compliance with all safety, security, and infection control protocols

Support overall health and wellness initiatives within the facility
Minimum Qualifications
-
Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in applicable state

Minimum one (1) year of corrections experience preferred

Current CPR certification (if required)
-
TB screening (PPD, questionnaire, or chest X-ray as required)
-
Current health certificate (as required by contract or state regulations)

Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age

Assignment Details

Setting: Corrections Facility (Medical & Ambulatory Units)

Schedule: 36/48 hours, every other weekend required

Hours: 36 hours per week
